5/5/17 Updates

CBT Weekly Meeting: Meeting Notes, May 5, 2017

Things have been going very smoothly with NYSAA.  NYSAA is a little slow this since 3-8 math is being administered this week.

If you need to add special circumstances codes, please do so in the Educator Portal, prior to the close of the testing window.

Optional Field Tests will be delivered randomly & will be marked as NA.  The student does not have to take the field tests, it is optional.

ELA 3 – 8

We are currently in Day 5 of CBT Math.  We have more than 10,000 students testing, and there have only been a few minor problems, which will be developed into our “Lessons Learned” presentation (tentatively scheduled for May 18th).

  1. The additional practice tests will remain available to any schools that have the Nextera Secure Browser installed.
    1. Please inform your field testing districts that did not participate in operational CBT that they should recommend schools make sure students practice before CBT SAFT.
      1. You can find details on accessing the ELA practice tests in this article on CBT Support: https://cbtsupport.nysed.gov/hc/en-us/articles/115001238023
      2. You can find details on accessing the Math practice tests in this article on CBT Support: https://cbtsupport.nysed.gov/hc/en-us/articles/115001846966
    2. Nextera Admin will be open for Math testing until EOD Thursday, May 11th (that’s the end of the makeup window)
  • Nextera Admin for Math administration will be open for updating student information until EOD Monday, May 15th
    1. We have a lot of districts that need to update Not Tested codes
    2. Those schools that have removed students from testing classes to separate classes, such as “Opt Out” classes still need to add the Not Tested code to that student’s record on Nextera Admin
  1. CBT Field testing:
    1. There is a delay to populating Nextera Admin for class/student data:
      1. Instead of the published May 8th date, it is now between May 10-12.
    2. There is a new section on CBT Support this morning: https://cbtsupport.nysed.gov/hc/en-us/sections/115000664063
    3. The first article has been added to inform the field about when access will be available to field testing schools: “When will test coordinators for CBT field testing have access to Nextera Admin?” https://nysed.zendesk.com/knowledge/articles/115002290546/en-us?brand_id=118303

Additional Discussion:

  • Access to Nextera Secure Browser will be available to DTC’s for downloading the Nextera Secure Browser: https://nysed.zendesk.com/knowledge/articles/115001184243
    • We ask that schools make no data changes when accessing Nextera Admin; adding users or classes before the pre-id class/student data is loaded from L2 by Questar can result in duplicate data issues on Nextera Admin during field testing administration.
  • The Proctor Field Testing Webinar will be recorded & shared for viewing, as is the case with the Proctor Webinar.
  • Here is the link from the Operational CBT Proctor Webinar: https://cbtsupport.nysed.gov/hc/en-us/articles/115001154103
  • If you need to contact Questar Support to request your DTC account be activated, you can do so with the following information: 3-8.help@questarai.com
    • Please include the following information: District Name/BEDS, School Name/BEDS, and information about your school participating in CBT SAFT.
