Memo: Technology Literacy

On October 24, 2017, the Office of Instructional Support released a memo on Technology Literacy:

Technology is a powerful tool, and should be utilized in everyday instruction, across all subjects, to enhance teaching and learning.  The definition of technology literacy should broadly encompass the technology knowledge and skills students must learn to be successful in school, college, and careers in the 21st Century.

To better understand the current landscape, needs, and challenges related to technology literacy, NYSED released a survey in February 2017 that asked respondents to provide feedback on a number of topics related to this subject.  The survey was then re-opened in May 2017 to ensure all stakeholders had the opportunity to respond.

The complete memo with information about the technology literacy survey results can be found on the Office of Educational Design & Technology website.
