10/27/17: Weekly CBT Updates, Grades 3-8 ELA and Math

CBT Weekly Update Call, 10/27/17

  1. We are working on letters (email) that we expect to start sending next week to confirm the following:
    • A Lead Scoring Entity’s Scoring Director from last year remain the scoring director for this year (based on what has been loaded to the NYSED online examination request system.
      • Additionally, now that there can be a different Lead Scoring Entity for ELA and Math, this would be an opportunity to also indicate a different Scoring Director for ELA or Math (from last year’s data).
    • For new Lead Scoring Entities, we are contacting them to collect the name and email of the Scoring Director for ELA and Math.
  2. Next, we will start contacting schools that have indicated a “pending” status for their Lead Scoring Entity to see if we can help them and to make sure they know this is required information in order to administer CBT in the spring.
  3. There is a special edition working group next week to discuss issues and enhancements for handling Out of District Placement (OODP) students for CBT.
    • As a reminder, we had two OODP schools last year and are making enhancements to student data based on their experience.
    • If you want to be included in the call, please contact me or contact your RIC or BOCES colleague who is involved in the CBT working groups to send questions/issues that need to be discussed in this special Halloween working group edition.
  4. The Educator Guides will be available by the end of next week.
    • These guides include the test roadmap to help for test administration planning.
