CBT Weekly Updates Call, 11/3/17
- The Educator Guides are posted to EngageNY: https://www.engageny.org/resource/test-guides-english-language-arts-and-mathematics
- This has also been shared on CBT Support and will go out as new in the CBT Listserv message today: https://cbtsupport.nysed.gov/hc/en-us/articles/115005412246-Educator-Guides-Available-on-EngageNY.
- We are reaching out now to collect new and confirm existing Scoring Directors for Lead Scoring Entities.
- Next we’ll start contacting schools with Pending Lead Scoring Entities.
- The Roadshow Requests to RICs have been sent! Once we hear back from locations, we will provide the schedule/dates.
- We already know that the first roadshow is going to be in Nassau (Long Island) on Tuesday, January 30th
- Roadshow times are the same as last year:
- Morning session from 9:00-12:00
- Lunch from 12-1:00 (not provided)
- Afternoon session from 1:00-3:30
- Upcoming enhancements to Nextera Admin for DTC and RIC-Level users to be able to upload new students and create classes in a template upload process:
- The template will use/be the same file layout as the Nextera Admin student Pre-ID file layouts with changes to the student data elements to allow for home/testing district for OODP students.
- The file layout from last year is available on Nextera Admin under “Resources” for reference.
- There is another upcoming enhancement to allow for student testing accommodations to be uploaded through the template upload process on Nextera Admin, such as TTS and Alternate Languages.
- This will mean that DTC and RIC users will be able to move students around into classes by accommodation and set the accommodations all at the same time.
- This is another option in addition to setting accommodations one at a time on a student-by-student basis as well as the multi-student edit feature.
- Guidance on Keyboarding Instruction
- Angelica Infante-Green released a memo on Technology Literacy: https://cbtsupport.nysed.gov/hc/en-us/articles/115005386763-Memo-Technology-Literacy
- The Office of Educational Design & Technology (EdTech) has released Guidance on Keyboarding Instruction: https://cbtsupport.nysed.gov/hc/en-us/articles/115005389466-Guidance-on-Keyboarding-Instruction
- District/School CBT Q&A Session: If you have districts/schools you support that are “on the fence” and perhaps have some concerns about CBT—maybe they need some additional information to support CBT within their district/school. The RIC can suggest getting a meeting together for the test coordinators or principals to ask questions directly to NYSED.
- This is a service that the RIC can offer and set up with me and Clara.
- We’ll ask for questions/topics specific to the district/school and prepare a few slides and try to make ourselves available.
