Instructions to Resume Interrupted Testlets

Students who lost access to the system in the middle of a testlet last week may log back in and find the testlet waiting to be completed until the end of day Friday, April 15. Even if the student answered some questions previously, DLM staff recommends that test administrators start an interrupted testlet from the beginning, taking time to review the student’s answers with them and then continue, rather than picking up the testlet from the point of interruption.

3-8 Computer-Based Field Tests

Revised field test assignments are posted at http://www.p12.nysed.gov/assessment/fieldtest/. This list reflects any changes from computer to paper field tests and removed CBT optional schools that declined to participate.

A communication will be sent today, April 8th, to all District Test Coordinators about access to the live Nextera Administration System.

The individual designated as the District Test Coordinator is responsible for adding additional district or school users in the live Administration System.  Information on how to add users or change the District Test Coordinator is provided at http://cbtsupport.nysed.govPlease do not add teacher accounts in the Administration System until after NYSED loads student and teacher data into the system, targeted for the week of April 25th. Additional information about teacher access will be provided later this month.

On Monday, April 11th, the District Test Coordinator (DTC) will receive an email to set up a district account in the Nextera Administration System. At this time, districts will have access to the Nextera Secure Browser. The Secure Browser must be on all devices that will be used for testing.

All user accounts, except for teacher accounts, may access the Secure Browser download in the Administration System.  Please click Help, then Downloads.  You will then be able to select the download link for the appropriate operating system.  The iPad and Chromebook links will take you to the location needed to download the appropriate app.  The Secure Browser download for Windows devices, iPads, and Chromebooks will be available in the Administration System on April 11th.  The Secure Browser download for Macs will be available later in the week.

The Secure Browser must be installed following all directions in the Setup and Installation Guide to ensure a secure testing environment.
