09/16/2016 Updates

CBT call notes 9/16/16

NYSAA

  • 2016 administration was successful, approximately 22,000 students tested in ELA and math, respectively.
  • Order of operations for data entered into KITE system (DLM’s test admin platform):
  1. Users – users will be rolled over from last year. Accounts may need to be reactivated. District Test Coordinator (DTC) can resend activation email and can add new users.
  2. Enrollment
  3. Rosters created
  • For 2017, NYSED will not load student roster data.  NYSED will load data for larger districts if requested.  To request assistance, email datasupport@nysed.gov with Roster Loading as the subject line.  By allowing districts to load their own data, they will better be able to control data changes due to student mobility.
  • NYSED will load enrollment data once.  These data will be pulled from SIRS after the 11/12/16 weekend refresh.  NYSAA-eligible students must be loaded into the data warehouse by 11/11/16 to be included in the Educator Portal enrollment file.

  • Updated Question Sampler (fall 2016) – available to the public – shows what the CBT student experience is like using released test questions.
  • The decision to do paper or CBT will be due the end of December or very early January.
  • Based on feedback from the field, changes will be made to the system to improve student and school experience. Information on these changes will be released soon (Fall 2016).
