NWEA has advised us of a new feature seen on iPads running version 18.2+. When text is selected in the secure browser tests or practice tests, a menu appears with selections for Translate, Share, and Copy Link to Highlight. The links for Translate and Share are not active and will not work. If a student selects “Copy Link with Highlight”, places the cursor in the constructed response box or notepad, then selects Paste, a link is pasted in the constructed response box. This link is also not active and will not work. NWEA has notified Apple of this issue and Apple has confirmed that a fix will be included in a future OS release. However at this time, there is no anticipated date for that release. A screenshot is provided below for your reference should your students encounter this during operational testing.
During testing, proctors should monitor students to ensure they are using the constructed-response boxes to enter their responses and are successfully navigating through the test delivery system.
